KENDALL CROLIUS
Kendall Crolius is a founding partner of The Sulevia Group.
From 2005 to 2008, Kendall was Vice President and General Manager of Forbes Conference Group, recognized as the premier global producer of forums for senior executives. Convening C-level executives and prominent thought leaders and policy-makers to share insights on market and geopolitical trends impacting business, Forbes Conferences were ranked as one of the top three “Most Valued Podiums” by Burson-Marstellar in 2008. Forbes signature CEO Forums have been hosted in cities including Paris, London, Copenhagen, Cannes, Doha, Mexico City, Sydney, Singapore, and Shanghai.
Kendall joined Forbes in April 2000 as Vice President of Marketing, responsible for all brand marketing efforts for Forbes Magazine Group around the world. She led the transformation of the marketing department from a sales support function to a full service client consultancy, developing and implementing custom research and unique multi-platform integrated marketing programs targeting C-level executives for leading Forbes advertisers.
Before joining Forbes, Kendall was Group Managing Director at McCann-Erickson, where she led the team that launched Agilent Technologies, Hewlett-Packard’s $8 billion spin-off, in 25 countries. She also headed the US Airways account, leading the expansion of that brand in the U.S. and Europe. Kendall spent fourteen years at J. Walter Thompson in both Account Management and Strategic Planning. She was Global Director of Strategic Planning on Kellogg’s; a front-line combatant in Burger King’s historic Burger Wars of the mid-eighties; launched Pepsi Slice; developed campaigns for pro bono accounts including The American Red Cross and the family literacy effort Mrs. Bush’s Story Time; and ran JWT’s Professional Development Program.
Kendall’s book Knitting With Dog Hair was published in the US in 1994 and in the UK in 1996. The only crafts book ever reviewed by the New York Times Book Review, it generated an enormous amount of publicity, from People magazine to Jay Leno’s monologue to segments on dozens of TV and radio talk shows. The book continues to sell steadily, and is recommended on a variety of websites related to crafts, pets and survival after the apocalypse.
Kendall serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of the Effie Awards for Marketing Effectiveness; co-Chairs the Professional Advisory Committee for Heifer International; and is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Princeton Triangle Club. Kendall graduated in 1976 with a degree in English from Princeton University. She lives in Southport, CT with her husband and children.
